Texas Wildlife Management Use
The ordinary transition requires prior qualified open-space or timber appraisal when wildlife-management use begins and active qualifying practices. Local review and acreage rules may matter.

- At least three qualifying practices for the ordinary statutory pathway
- Property-specific wildlife-management plan
- Continuing documented management
How to apply
Submit the required application and property-specific wildlife-management plan to the county appraisal district. TPWD provides plan and annual-report forms; reports go to the chief appraiser when required.
